ESTABLISHMENT OF NEPRA APPELLATE TRIBUNAL, ISLAMABAD

NEPRA Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad established under the  As per Section 12(A)(2) of Regulation of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electric Power (Amendment) Act, 2018  At present one NEPRA Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad is working at Islamabad.

APPOINTMENT

The Chairman, Members Technical and Members Judicial of the Tribunal shall be appointed by the Federal Government in the prescribed manner

CHAIRMAN

Members (Finance)

Members (Electricity)

             As per Section 12(A)(2) of Regulation of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electric Power (Amendment) Act, 2018, The members of the Appellate Tribunal shall be appointed by The Federal Government and shall comprise. -

(a) a former judge of a High Court who shall be the Chairman, for a single term of four years on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed shall be nominated by the provinces or Federal Government: as the case may be, by rotation in the following order, namely: -.

(i) the member representing the Federal Government;

(ii)the member representing the Province of the Punjab:

(iii) the member representing the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:

(iv) the member representing the Province of Sindh; and

(v) the member representing the Province of Balochistan;

TENURE

As per Section 12(A)(2)(a) of Regulation of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electric Power (Amendment) Act, 2018. The appointment of Chairman is made for a single term of four years. The appointment of Member (Electricity) and Member (Finance)is made for a period of three years.
