ESTABLISHMENT OF TELECOMMUNICATION APPELLATE TRIBUNAL

Telecommunication Appellate Tribunal established under the Section 7A(1) of Telecommunication Appellate Tribunal Act, 2024. At present one Telecommunication Appellate Tribunal is working at Islamabad.

APPOINTMENT

The Chairperson and members of the Tribunal shall be appointed by the Federal Government in the prescribed manner

CHAIRPERSON

             who shall be a person who has been a Judge of a High Court; or is or has been an advocate having for a period of not less than   fifteen years’ active practice of conducting cases before a High Court.

MEMBER (TECHNICAL)

who shall be a person who has been masters level professional degree in electrical, electronics, telecommunications, information and communication technology or information security or other related subjects with at least ten years of relevant experience including at least five years experience at senior management level in the public or private sector

MEMBER (FINANCE)

who shall be a person who has been master’s level professional degree in finance, commerce, economics, charted accountancy or other related subject with at least ten years of relevant experience including at least five years’ experience at senior management level in the public or private sector

TENURE

Chairperson and members shall hold office for a period of four years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a similar term or terms and shall cease to hold office on attaining the age of sixty-eight years or on the expiry of the term, unless renewed, whichever is earlier
