Raja Naeem Akbar , Federal Secretary

Raja Naeem Akbar, Hilal e Imtiaz is serving as the Law and Justice Secretary. Before joining as Law and Justice Secretary on September 8, 2020, he remained posted as Senior Consultant (Contract) MP-1. He has supervised various wings including Drafting and Legislation Wing, Opinion Wing, Solicitor Wing and Development Wing. He has also headed the Contract and Treaty Section and the Administration of Federal Courts and Tribunals at the Ministry. 

He has remained as the Member of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Legal Experts Committee, Governing Board on the SAARC Arbitration Council and the Focal Person for the office of the International Co-operation on International Family Law. He represented the Government of Pakistan in Kartarpur Corridor Project and also executed Cooperation Agreements and MoU’s with Ministries of Justices of countries including Peoples Republic of China, Republic of Belarus, Tunisia and Nepal. 

Before joining the Ministry of Law and Justice in 2011, he served as Deputy Director (Law) at Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.  

He earned his LLM degree (Private International Law, International Trade law, Sale, Supply and Credit Transactions and Intellectual Property Law) from University of Wolverhampton (2004), MA (Political Science) from University of Punjab (2000) and LLB from University of Punjab (1999).
